WHY JUNE OAK
CARE GUIDE
LET’S CONNECT

I’m Katheryn Faulconer, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 18 years of nursing experience. My career has included nine years in Labor and Delivery, nine years in Case Management, and advanced clinical training in psychiatric mental health. Throughout that time, I have supported people through major transitions, complex health concerns, and periods of uncertainty. Those experiences shaped the way I practice today. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and seek to understand the larger context of your life before recommending treatment.

My approach is also shaped by personal experience. I raised my children as a single mother and have been a breast cancer survivor for 13 years. I understand how someone can continue working, caring for others, and meeting every responsibility while privately carrying fear, exhaustion, or uncertainty. You can be capable, dependable, and successful while still feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unlike yourself. I take time to understand how your symptoms, relationships, physical health, responsibilities, and life experiences may be affecting one another rather than viewing a diagnosis in isolation.

I created June Oak Psychiatry to offer a more attentive and personal approach to psychiatric care. We begin by exploring what you are experiencing, how it is affecting your daily life, what you have already tried, and what you hope will change. You do not need to be in crisis or have everything figured out before reaching out. Your concerns will be taken seriously, and your priorities will help define what meaningful improvement looks like for you.

From there, I offer clear recommendations guided by current research, thoughtful judgment, and a thorough understanding of your individual circumstances. I continue to assess how well the approach is working and make adjustments as your needs change. Medication may be one part of the plan, but it is never the entire conversation. I explain the reasoning behind each option, welcome your questions and concerns, and make decisions with you rather than for you. Ultimately, the true measure of care is the difference you experience in your everyday life.
